Abstract (English) : | OBJECTIVE: This analysis considers the usefulness of maternal mortality ratio (MMR) as an indicator of obstetric care in the context of low overall maternal mortality. We explore whether variation in the level of MMR among European countries reflects differences in obstetric care. |

Comments : | L’ANAES a été saisi récemment par le CNGOF pour l’émission de recommandations de pratique clinique concernant la prévention des hémorragies post-partum. A noter toutefois que le dossier soumis par le CNGOF ne propose aucune étude des facteurs de risque présumés, comme le déclenchement, l’utilisation des ocytocines et l’immobilisation des parturientes en position lithotomique, propositions qui lui avaient été suggérées par le CIANE (Collectif Interassociatif Autour de la NaissancE, <http://naissance.ws/CIANE/>). |
