Résumé (français) : |

Abstract (English) : | In conclusion, misoprostol appears to be more effective in cervical ripening and labor induction through decreases in the cesarean sections rate and the length of time in labor compared to conventional induction regimens. However, the apparent increase in uterine hyperstimulation is of concern, especially in women after cesarean section. Thus, though misoprostol seems to be an effective, inexpensive and convenient agent for labor induction the possible risks demand careful consideration before its routine use for that purpose. |
