Abstract (English) : | We have reviewed the literature on third and fourth degree perineal lacerations, with respect to occurrence, risk factors, repair, short and long term morbidity, and secondary treatment. Suggestions of delivery procedures aiming to reduce the extent of perineal trauma are given. The long term sequelae of severe lacerations are clearly underestimated. |
