La rupture utérine est une sérieuse menace à la fois pour la vie de la mère et du foetus. Elle survient en général sur 0.1 à 1% des accouchements avec les taux les plus élévés sur utérus cicatriciel. Avec la vulgarisation de l’utilisation du misoprostol pour induction du travail, les cas de rupture sur utérus non cicatriciel deviennent fréquents. Nous rapportons un cas de rupture utérine à 24 semaines après utilisation du misoprostol et de l’ocytocine pour induction du travail. Ce cas montre bien l’extrême prudence qu’il faut garder pour utiliser le misoprostol qui pourrait néanmoins être intéressant en obstétrique.

Abstract (English)  :

Uterine rupture is a serious and often tragic complication that is life threatening to both mother and the foetus. It occurs at a frequency of about 0.1 to 1% with most cases on scarred uterus. With the increased use of misoprostol as a labor induction agent, cases of rupture of unscarred uterus following its use become frequent. We report a case of uterine rupture in a pauciparous woman with a stillbirth at 24 weeks gestation whose labour was induced with both misoprostol and oxytocin. Clinicians should be particularly careful in using misoprostol for induction of labor even in unscarred uterus.
