➡ Display this record A Danish study on the risks of babies who are too small (less than 3kg) or too big (4kg and over) according to the maternal weight gain for each category of body mass index (BMI), compared to American recommendations. As a result, American recommendations can be applied to women of normal weight, overweight and obese; but for underweight women, comparing the risks of too small babies with those of overweight babies, the study finds that the limit of maximum weight gain should be raised.

Maternal outcomes included preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, venous complications, shoulder dystocia, complications of anesthesia, and stillbirth after 28 weeks of gestation. Neonatal negative outcomes included birth trauma, respiratory disorders, bacterial sepsis, hemorrhagic disorders, convulsions, perinatal death, and an Apgar score less than 7 at 5 minutes."

➡ Display this record Etude sur 1100 personnes.
