Résumé (français) : | Le but de cette étude longitudinale était de comparer les couples qui avaient conçu par fécondation in vitro (FIV) avec des couples qui avaient conçu naturellement, en ce qui concerne les schémas de réponse émotionnelle à différents stades de la grossesse, et de comparer leurs attentes et attitudes à l’égard de la grossesse, de la parentalité et les enfants. Cinquante-sept femmes FIV et 55 de leurs partenaires masculins, et un groupe témoin de 43 femmes enceintes et 39 de leurs partenaires masculins ont participé. Ils ont complété des échelles mesurant les réactions émotionnelles à la grossesse, les attitudes à l’égard de la grossesse, la parentalité et des enfants. Les couples de FIV ont été interrogés sur leur expérience de la grossesse. |
Abstract (English) : | The aim of this longitudinal study was to compare couples who had conceived by in-vitro fertilization (IVF) with couples who had conceived naturally, regarding patterns of emotional response to different stages of pregnancy and to compare their expectations of and attitudes to pregnancy, parenthood and children. Fifty-seven IVF women and 55 of their male partners, and a control group of 43 pregnant women and 39 of their male partners participated. They completed scales measuring emotional responses to pregnancy, attitudes to pregnancy, parenthood and children. The IVF couples were interviewed about their experience of pregnancy. |
