Abstract (English) : | Can the game of “Tetris“ really reduce the occurrence of traumatic intrusions? This is indicated in a recent study by Holmes et al. (2009). Traumatic intrusions are one of the three major symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. When exposed to a traumatic event, the processing of information is not carried out in the same way as in a daily situation. Information is mainly processed in their perceptual and sensory components and lacks both conceptualization and contextualisation. This imbalance prevents the integration of the representation of the traumatic event within the autobiographical memory. Rich in sensori-perceptive details, traumatic intrusions contribute to the occurrence of neurovegetative hyperactivation manifestations and induce significant emotional and psychic distress during their reactivation in memory. |
