Abstract (English)  :

Computerized database analyzed for attempted VBAC beyond 40 weeks. 90 pts matched with 90 controls. Results: successful VBAC was 65.6% compared with 94.4% of controls. Also found that 62% were successful is there were no previous vaginal births, 82% success was found if patient had at least one prior vaginal birth. Conc: the patient can be reassured that passing her due date does not alter the efficacy or safety of a TOL. No change in counseling is warranted simply due to the completion of 40 weeks’ gestation.
